Chips under the skin are a frequent and popular device in sci-fi stories. From the Matrix films to Black Mirror, we see scenes when tiny metallic items are inserted into the bodies of the characters, most often as props of a dystopian future, when everybody is monitored.
Our vision of the future neither has to be so perversely paranoid, nor do we have to stick devices into our bodies, thanks to the inventors of smart suits.
Smart suits could monitor bodily functions, weight, heart rates and temperature and turn this information to our benefit. Is the fashion industry prepared for gathering and using this tsunami of data? Janice Wang from Alvanon explains how IoT is implemented in the retail and supply chain of fashion.
